Pension Sv Juraj ("Saint George"), Spisska Sobota
Spisska Sobota ("Saturday market") is a beautiful medieval square just outside Poprad town centre. Pension Sv Juraj is a converted town house on the square that is full of character with a very friendly well-established management. It has around 30 rooms with en-suite facilities. The rooms range from fairly standard doubles to large characterful apartments and family rooms. The restaurant at Sv Juraj is superb offering good breakfasts, lunches and dinners. It also has a remarkable double storey cellar which has been converted into a lovely bar.
Sv Juraj is walking distance from Poprad town centre and is close to Aquacity, a spa/swimming pool complex famous for its ecological credentials.
The Grand Castle Hotel, Liptovsky Hradok
This is a beautifully renovated castle looking across to the Western High Tatras. The original castle dates back to 13th century but took its current
form in the 16th century. In the early 1800's a fire devastated the castle and the adjoining manor house. Subsequently only the manor house was restored, however in recent times more of the castle is being used and a restoration plan is in progress. All of the grand rooms have their own individual character and full facilities. There is a great restaurant and bar. You can also watch a short film about the castle and its history.
Tatra NP Region
There is plenty of accommodation available around the Tatra National Park. We have chosen a few of our favourite hotels that we feel are the best complements to the Mountain Cottages which are unique to our tours.
Hotel Helios, Zakopane
The Hotel Helios is located in the centre of Zakopane. It is surrounded by a considerable area of green parkland which not only makes you feel that you are not in an urban centre but also opens up the views of the magnificent High Tatras to the south. The hotel has 38 rooms and is relatively modern and well-equipped. There is a restaurant which serves Polish and Italian cuisine. The hotel is 7 minutes walk from the city centre.
Pension Vasko, Zdiar
The Vasko is a small family-run pension in Zdiar, below the Belianske Tatras. There are 10 rooms which can be doubles or triples. All rooms have en suite facilities. This is lovely intimate pension with clean, simple rooms, breathtaking views and a very warm welcome. There is a delightful bar/restaurant area with a fireplace and a downstairs games room with a pool table. The pension takes full advantage of the local wood resources in its construction and although relatively new it is built in the traditional style of the area.
Hotel Permon, Podbanske
The Permon is a 4 star hotel located near to our key bear areas. It is in a stunning location and perfect for resting after a long day's walk. The hotel is well-equipped with all of the trappings associated with four star hotels. The hotel also has an indoor swimming pool with views of the mountains and a superb spa complex with Finnish saunas, steam rooms, hot tubs and herbal inhalation rooms. You can also receive treatments such as massages.
The Mountain Cottages (Chata)
We have been given exclusive access to the Ranger Cottages by the park authorities. The cottages vary in size from 4 beds to 16 beds. They are heated by wood burners and chimneys, once the fires have got going they are very warm. The cottages tend to contain a kitchen/dining area and shared bedrooms sometimes with bunk beds; we provide bedding and towels. The facilities in the cottages are basic most of them have no hot water or electricity. Many of the cottages have outdoor toilets but we try where possible to use those with indoor facilities. Where there are only outdoor facilties we will provide a chemical toilet. We provide cooked meals in the cottage; many have barbeque facilities with outside sitting areas which we can use if the weather permits.
Mountain Refuges
The Mountain Refuges are like hostels - they are used year round by walkers, climbers and ski-mountaineering enthusiasts. There are usually a number of double rooms and dormitories; there are high chances of getting the double rooms. Bathroom facilities are usually shared. Most of them have a fully functional restaurant and bar serving hearty mountain meals and a full range of drinks.

Kempinski, High Tatras
The mountain village of Strbske Pleso with its wonderful mountain lake and ski jump on the horizon is the setting for the only five star hotel of the region. Managed by the world renowned Kempinski group, this hotel offers you the mountain experience with a touch of luxury. Service is, as expected, excellent and there is a top class restaurant and spa complex. The location of the hotel makes this a great place from which to start any bear tours. If you are staying at the hotel then you will find our one day bear tour as one of their excursions. If you would like to do a private bear trip then we can book this hotel either side of the mountain cottages to allow you to prepare for/recover from your adventure in the hills!
Townhouse in Levoca
This is a converted six bedroom renaissance townhouse one block from the medieval town square of Levoca; a UNESCO World Heritage site.
Each room has its own character and en suite bathroom. The house has two kitchens and can be used as a self-catered accommodation or we can arrange
a housekeeper for your stay. The thick stone walls and numerous arches make this a wonderfully atmospheric place to stay.
This house is particularly suitable for private groups consisting of a group of friends or more than one family.
The Apartment on Lomnicky Stit
The Apartment sits right on the peak of Lomnicky Stit and can accommodate up to 4 people. You arrive at sunset and following a sundowner are offered a delicious meal followed by after dinner star gazing before retiring to your apartment in the sky for the night. After breakfast the cable car will transport you back to earth.
